Many discounts in Spain are not one-offs: they repeat on the same day of the week, every week. Knowing which one falls on which day lets you plan your shopping, your dinner or your cultural outing without paying more than you need to. This guide explains the logic and takes you to what we have verified for each day.
Why businesses spread discounts across the week
A business gains nothing by filling up on a Saturday night, because it fills up by itself, but it does gain by cutting prices on a quiet day to draw people in when there are spare tables, seats or delivery riders. That is why recurring discounts cluster on weekdays: the cinema has its "día del espectador" (viewer's day), the pizzeria its Tuesday, the restaurant its lunchtime slot. It is predictable, and that is an advantage for anyone who knows about it.
Wednesday is the big day
If you had to pick one day to spend less, it would be Wednesday. It brings together the cinema discount day at a large share of cinemas, restaurant promotions and, less well known, free-entry slots at museums. In our catalogue, for example, 100 Montaditos' Euromanía and the free slots at Madrid's museums coincide on Wednesday. You can see it all together on the Wednesday discounts page.
Every day has its own page
Instead of generic lists, we have one page for each day with what has been verified and its exact time slot, plus the live status (whether it is active right now according to Madrid time):
- Monday — start of the week, museum slots.
- Tuesday — the restaurant classic.
- Wednesday — the busiest: cinema, food and culture.
- Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday — weekends and afternoon slots.
How to make the most of it without any hassle
You do not need to memorise anything: look at the page for the day before deciding on a plan, or go towhat is on today to see what is active at this moment. And remember that recurring promotions almost never use a code — they apply automatically when you order or at the box office — so all you need to do is go on the right day.
